My name is Kyla, and I’m a dedicated audio engineer, producer, and backline tech. My music journey began at 11 when I started playing the piano. I picked up the drums at 12, learned guitar at 13, and began playing bass two years ago. I've always been fascinated by different instruments and wanted to learn as many as I could, which naturally led me to explore the technical side of music.

I started audio engineering six years ago, working on live gigs, mixing, and mastering. Since then, I’ve continually expanded my skills and knowledge, leading to my qualification in 2024 with a degree in Music Production and Sound from BIMM Institute. Music has always been an essential part of my life, offering an escape and a way to express myself freely.

At 16, I built a homemade studio in my back garden. What started as just a desk and computer has evolved into a creative hub for myself and the musicians I collaborate with. The studio, measuring 6x5 meters, houses an extensive range of equipment. I’m fortunate to have an upright piano gifted by a friend, which I’ve worked on to make it record-ready. My setup includes a Pearl Decade 5-piece kit, a Komplete Kontrol A61, an Epiphone Les Paul Custom, and a Soundcraft ui24r—my pride and joy, which serves as both a studio interface and a mixer for gigs. I also use an Aston Elements microphone with an Aston shield, Adam Audio TV5 speakers, Yamaha and Epiphone acoustic guitars, a Native Instruments Maschine Mikro MK3, and a Universal Audio Apollo Twin X Duo Heritage Edition, which I added during my final year at university.

It’s taken years to accumulate this gear, but I’m grateful to have a space where I can do what I love, right from the comfort of my home.
